Louisiana Bankers Association Elects 2017-2018 Officers, Board Members

BATON ROUGE— Ken Hale, president and chief executive officer of BOM in Natchitoches, was installed as the 2017-2018 chairman of the Louisiana Bankers Association during the 117th Annual LBA Convention & Exposition, held in New Orleans May 10-12.

Hale succeeds Thomas L. Martin, president and chief executive officer of Gibsland Bank and Trust. As outgoing LBA chairman, Martin will continue to serve for one year as immediate past chairman on the LBA Board of Directors.

The other 2016-2017 LBA officers are: 

  • Chairman-Elect Patrick R. Biglane, president and chief executive officer of Concordia Bank in Vidalia
  • Treasurer Gary Littlefield of Gulf Coast Bank and Trust in Baton Rouge

Delegates to the LBA convention elected new directors:

  • Southeast Region: Ron E. Samford, Jr., of Metairie Bank and Trust Co.
  • South Central Region: Brandt J. Dufrene of First National Bank USA in Boutte
  • Southeast Region: Brian W. North of Fifth District Savings Bank in New Orleans

Other LBA directors continuing to serve for the upcoming year are: 

  • Northwest Region: Jim Barlow of Home Federal Bank in Shreveport
  • Southwest Region: John Fusilier of The Evangeline Bank & Trust
  • Central Region: Chadwick E. “Chad” McClung of Colfax Banking Company
  • Capitol Region: David R. “Jude” Melville, III, of Business First Bank in Baton Rouge
  • Acadiana Region: Blake S. Williams of Vermilion Bank & Trust in Kaplan
  • Northeast Region: Brian Woodard of First National Bank in Ruston
  • Robert T. Taylor, Chief Executive Officer of LBA in Baton Rouge
