3rd Annual 365 to Rich Program to be Held in October

Written by Lauren Brown, LBA Education Administrator

In 2016, The Louisiana Bankers Education Council introduced the 365 to Rich program for high school seniors to shadow a banker for a day. The purpose of the program is to promote financial literacy and introduce banking as a career option. During the bank shadow day, the students visit each department of the bank and gain greater knowledge of the business of banking while learning to become more financially literate. Each student leaves with a flash drive of financial literacy resources and has the opportunity to submit an essay about their experience that will be judged among the others across the state, with one student being awarded an iPad. This year, all students who submit an essay will also receive a special 365 to Rich t-shirt. After the program takes place, each student will receive a daily text message for 365 days with tips on how to become “rich” in all ways such as money, work, knowledge and service.

Last year, the program brought more than 110 high school students into community banks. We’d love for your bank to join us as we host the 3rd annual 365 to Rich program this October. If your bank would like to participate, please click here to sign up and receive more information
