Position Description
South Louisiana Bank Branch Manager at 5379 Highland Rd in Baton Rouge. Monday-Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm. Essential Duties: Lending -- Meet with loan applicants, obtain information for loan applications and answer questions about the process. Analyze applicant financial status, credit and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans. Stay abreast of new types of loans and other financial services and products to better meet customer needs. Submit applications to credit analysts for verification and recommendation. Work with clients to identify their financial goals and to find ways of reaching those goals. Order appraisals, credit reports and other information as needed on loan applicants. Prepare loan packages in accordance with bank standards. Control disbursement of construction loan proceeds as work on project progresses. Handle inquiries from applicants and branch personnel; resolve customer complaints. Make decisions on loans and terms within lending limits. Oversee, recommend and implement upgrades and improvements to bank’s policies and procedures. Prepare reports to send to customers whose accounts are delinquent and forward irreconcilable accounts for collector activity. Operations -- Ensure all operation personnel are adequately trained to handle their respective jobs. Support teller and customer service areas by maintaining the knowledge to make informed decisions that are required by management. Handle customer issues or concerns; counsel customer with special needs/request. Manage overall branch office operations. Prepare reports for management, as required. Establish and attain internal performance objectives for branch business volume, deposits, loan portfolios. Security -- Lead as security supervisor for branch. Maintain security procedure and policy manual and remain informed of changes to security policy. Keep branch personnel informed of security procedures and ensure that they are adequately trained. Report all security issues to Bank Security Officer. Maintain security system and test monthly. Investigate security issues, when needed. Personnel Supervision -- Provide personnel supervision for branch staff. Provide and maintain a professional business-like atmosphere within the branch. Review staff members for formal performance evaluations and recommend salary adjustments. Counsel employees, when needed. Coordinate and ensure staff training. Ensure that branch personnel are properly trained in their individual job duties. Maintain optimal staffing levels to ensure proper customer service. Keep branch personnel informed of all information pertinent to them through monthly branch meetings. Remain active and knowledgeable in the day to day functions of the branch. Business Development -- Call on existing customers to increase or retain business. Call on potential customers to develop new business. Market bank products to individual and firms, promoting bank services that may meet customers’ needs. Solicit business for new mortgages. Participate in activities for generating new business and name/brand recognition such as special events, community events. Represent the bank in public relations activities and community affairs. General -- Responsible for maintaining facility (office building, grounds, equipment, fixtures, etc). Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or related area. Extensive computer skills (Microsoft systems, software programs). Banking and/or loan services experience preferred. Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data. Requirements: While performing duties, the employee is required to sit, stoop, lift up to 20 pounds & the ability to communicate effectively with others, and may be required to work evenings and/or weekends, attend remote meetings/trainings and/or travel.
