Position Description
Description: We are seeking a career oriented and experienced Community Bank Lender to join our community bank with responsibilities for assisting local small businesses and individuals with their financing and banking needs. Responsibilities: Responsible for developing new business, underwriting, structuring, and closing of small business and individual loans, as well as maintaining and servicing a loan portfolio. Analyzes client needs, financial information, credit capacity, banking history, and other information to determine the feasibility of granting a loan. Uses experience, sound judgment and savvy business sense in evaluating clients and credit requests. Compiles loan packages with supporting financial analysis and negotiates loan structure with potential borrowers subject to loan policy, including fees and terms. Manage loan portfolio including renewals, modifications, updated credit analysis, collections, and portfolio monitoring. Ensure compliance with banking laws, regulations, and the bank’s lending policies. Represent the bank in various community and business development activities to promote bank services. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in small business lending or commercial banking. Agricultural lending experience would be highly valued. Applicant should be able to exercise good judgment in establishing and maintaining working relationships, solving problems, and be able to deliver a high level of accuracy, focus and timeliness with limited supervision. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required along with a proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Programs/Products. Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies, contracts, credit and financial documents as well as other legal documents as needed. Ability to present, sell and service bank products as well as demonstrate professional knowledge of business and commercial lending. Strong analytical, decision-making, and mathematical capabilities as well as an understanding of credit underwriting and loan documentation. Strong understanding of lending products and banking regulations. Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
